Our "New" Society

Out with the old...

In legacy media, or old media, are collectively the traditional forms of human exchange. Today, much of media content can be viewed in a variety of formats intended to serve multiple purposes and audiences. Social media allows individuals to gather and express themselves in a much more simple and immediate fashion.

Multimedia improvements

By giving people this capability, they not only have the ability to share ideas, opinions and other contents, but also (if they wish) gain notoriety, and expand their influence. New media allows individuals to show more authentication in their content. The computer is said to assume a dominant role as the universal instrument of inspiration, creation, distribution and consumption which works hand in hand with human culture to create a new super-medium computer culture.

Missing Old Media?

Overall, multimedia truly makes the world a better place in many ways. It also gives a platform to some less savory behaviors and opinions. Many people are found communicating digitally with little to none in face-to-face communication. Cyberbullying, cheating, texting while driving, as well as many others are at a extreme high from multimedia perks. Sometimes waking up to the morning news and reading local ads in a newspaper seems more pleasing than always streaming or knowing the latest of five minutes ago... wishful thinking though.
